This outdoor rink is at Pearl Creek Elementary School in Fairbanks, Alaska. It was flooded in the fall but has seen little maintenance since. The kids use it all the time and have dug a lot of holes in the surface with their skates. Furthermore, spring sun heats the steel pipe that the goals are made from and they sink into the ice. Parents have done a nice job of shoveling the rink so it is skatable, but the surface is uneven and a hockey puck doesn't get a lot of glide.
