The building in this drawing was long identified as "the" Eldorado Station, a Tanana Valley
Railroad depot constructed at Little Eldorado Creek to serve the mining camp of Eldorado City
three miles upstream. However, some old-timers say it is actually an Eldorado City building
that was put on skids and hauled down the creek at a later date. Eldorado City is now gone, the
last of its buildings moved or destroyed when the Fairbanks Exploration Company began
dredging Little Eldorado Creek in the mid 1940s. So in either case, this is all that's left
of Eldorado.
