Homeschool
Our family enjoys homeschooling. Our family homeschools through Ravan. Raven Correspondence School is a part of the Koyukuk Public School District in Alaska, but all the students are homeschooled. Parents can chose their own curriculum, and the school reimburses the family if the material is not religious in nature. Families can still use religious materials on a limited basis, but they need to pay for it out of their own pockets. Grades and work samples are turned into the school, and the school keeps the official records. The students who graduate, receive a public school diploma even though they homeschool. We think this provides our family a good balance and provides the best of both worlds to our children. We have official school records, and a teacher's supervision as needed; and we are able to choose what curriculum our daughters use and decided how to teach with it.
