These numbers concern teleconference panelist, the Reverend Richard Dalton national director of Atlanta-based Wings of Hope, a successful, community- involvement drug-treatment program of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (see accompanying story).

During local breakout discussion groups, Father William Sanchez, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Bernalillo, N.M., related how the CIA attempted to recruit him for its South American operations just after he had graduated from seminary.

Operatives, he said, told him that, in exchange for generous compensation, he would not be able to contact his family for five-year stretches. Agency recruitment from seminaries is a common CIA practice, Sanchez said.
