Hi Karen, (Re: yours of 17-Jul-1996, "Science or Belief?")

There was only ONE Federal Judge in the Arkansas case. His name was Judge William Overton. He was "snowed" by a large bunch of smart lawyers.

That is no more that "head-counting" and you should know better than to use that as the basis of scientific fact. That is NOT the way that "science works" and thus your comment is wide of the mark.

Various well known evolutionists, of course admit that Creation and evolution between them exhaust the possibilities. i.e.;

"Creation and evolution, between them, exhaust the possible explanations for the origin of living things. Organisms either appeared on the earth fully developed or they did not. If they did not, they must have developed from preexisting species by some process of modification. (D.J. Futuyma, SCIENCE ON TRIAL, Pantheon Books, New York, 1983, p. 197, as quoted in: Creation Scientists ANSWER Their Critics, p.63)

It is fascinating therefore to find evolutionists saying;

1. STASIS. Most species exhibit no directional change during their tenure on earth. They appear in the fossil record looking much the same as when they disappear, morphological change is usually limited and directionless.

2. SUDDEN APPEARANCE. In any local area, a species does not arise gradually by the steady transformation of its ancestors: it appears all at once and "fully formed.""

(The Panda's Thumb, The Episodic Nature of Evolutionary Change, S.J. Gould, (1987 reprint), p. 151)

See that? "If they did appear in a fully developed state, they must have been created by some omnipotent intelligence."

So looking at Futuyma's and Gould's statements is seems that CREATION has been established and evolution is now disproved!
