Celtic Confusion is a long time Fairbanks band, having been around since 1990. Currently composed of (top: l. to r.): Patrick Webb on fiddle; Colleen Herning - flute & whistle; Paige Steiner, our youngest member on fiddle and attitude; Gary Newman - tenor banjo, guitar, mandolin, mandola - things with strings and picks. Not shown: Lisa Jaeger (not shown)- guitar and percussion; Max Newman (not shown) on guitar, keyboards, and mandolin, when in town. We play traditional Irish, Scottish, French-Canadian, and Cape Breton music around Alaska for special events, contradances, festivals and sometimes, just for the fun of it, like at sessions. Celtic Confusion was selected for inclusion on the Alaska State Council on the Arts Performing Artists Roster. If you are interested in having Celtic Confusion perform and/or teach workshops in a non-urban location in Alaska, the ASCA may be able to help fund such an endeavour.
