August 7th, 8th, 9th & 10th

Of course, there's always work to be done on a major project like this... And every year, we try to think of new ways to improve the festival.

Here's the latest news on what we've got in store for you this year (and some shots from past festivals!):

"One of the many new improvements to the 2002 TB&MF is a Designated Family Camping Area! Our intentions are to create a separate "family friendly" camping environment, enabling families with children and the more conservative festival goer the chance to have a positive and enjoyable festival experience. With a designated area for Families, we would request that patrons who utilize this special camping area, to not set up obtrusive or excessive camps. There will be no unnecessary "louder than camp" noise after 10:00 p.m., (Radios, Conversations, Music, etc). If this doesn't sound like your idea of camping, then we request that you utilize our Open Festival Camping area. We hope this will give everyone the opportunity to experience the TB&MF.

"After the last few years of developing the property, this year the Talkeetna Bluegrass & Music Festival is happy to see the return of some of the bands that had dropped off in the past few years. Welcome Back! We hope you will come out and experience the new and improved Talkeetna Bluegrass & Music Festival. We are currently working on new ideas so look for more festivals and shows on the TB&MF web site. More information will be announced as it develops."

  • Admission is $30 for adults, and kids over 65 and under 12 are free! Also, if you just want to bring the gang up for Sunday, admission for the day will only be $10 from the time the gate opens 'til the end of the show. Your admission bracelet is good for all four days, so be sure to keep track of it until the party's over...
  • Karma Kontrol will be on the lookout for 'misplaced' alcohol. Keep your drinks in your private camping area and the Beer Garden only!
  • We've added 5 FREE showers, for festival-goers' comfort. Bring your own towel (and maybe some soap?), and you're good to go!
  • Get thirsty in the summer sun? No worries... there's fresh drinking water available on site, so you don't have to trek to town.
  • The parking lots have been fixed up to better accomodate families, handicapped folks, band members, and for the overall safety of all festival-goers.
  • Suggestions? We'd love to hear what our festival goers would like to see happen in the future! Contact us with your ideas!
